This Antique Art Nouveau piece was made by, and is stamped, Kayserrzinn.
The pewter foundry was very successful with the production of Art Nouveau objects and employed up to 800 people during the weddings. The product range included lamps, candlesticks, picture frames, goblets, vases, tins, writing sets, bowls, coffee, tea, beer and liqueur service. The high formal and material quality of Kayserzinn was awarded gold medals at the world exhibitions in Paris in 1900 and in St. Louis in 1904 as well as at the epoch-making Turin Exhibition of Applied Arts in 1902.
The tin was produced without the addition of lead ; antimony , a shiny silver and brittle semimetal was added. In the foundry, from 1894/95, the pewter objects produced were numbered consecutively on the underside next to the relief designation KAYSERZINN from the number 4000.
